Screenings planned for diabetic research project

The University of Kentucky and the Hemphill Community Center will enroll participants in a diabetic research project on Tuesday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to noon, and Thursday, May 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. Those with a diagnosis of Type II diabetes or with an AIC of 6.5 or higher on the day of testing will automatically qualify to be in the research project. Free diabetes self-management classes will be offered as part of the study. The screenings will take place at the Hemphill Community Center, and selected participants in the project will earn cash for some portions of the research. For more information, call Tiffany B.
