Search ends after woman’s body found

A Mayking woman reported missing last Thursday was found dead near her home at Mayking late Sunday afternoon.

The Letcher County Sheriff’s Department says no foul play is suspected in the death of Debbie Hatton Bradshaw, whose body was found outside her home.

Bradshaw was reported missing by a sister after she was last seen walking her dog. The sister, Allene Caldwell, told police that Ms. Bradshaw, 44, was suffering from asthma and depression at the time she disappeared.

Sheriff Danny Webb said Ms. Bradshaw was spotted in Jenkins and in Whitesburg during the time between her disappearance and death, but in each case disappeared again before officers could find her.

Funeral services for Ms. Bradshaw are scheduled for 7:00 tonight (Wednesday) at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg.

Survivors include two daughters, Shanna Oakley of Georgetown and Holly Bradshaw of Whitesburg; a son, Cory Bradshaw of Jeffersonville, Ky.; five sisters, Allene Caldwell of London, Cindy Honeycutt of Whitesburg, Brenda Hatton and Shelia Laviers, both of Bel Air, Md., and Beverly Adams of Whitesburg; and one brother, Jimmy Warren Hatton of Whitesburg.
