SEC Network will televise all of ‘Big Blue Madness’

The SEC Network will televise UK’s Big Blue Madness live and in its entirety from 7-9 p.m. on Oct. 16.

Last year — the first Big Blue Madness for the new ESPN-run network — only excerpts were featured from the event. That drew the ire of UK fans who were accustomed to seeing the whole event live on Lexington’s WKYT-TV and a delayed feed on the Fox regional sports network.

SEC Network officials said last year that music copyright laws had prevented a broadcast of the entire event on the network.

Big Blue Madness features player introductions — men and women — loud music with a light show, scrimmages by both squads, a performance by women’s coach Matthew Mitchell and men’s coach John Calipari addressing the frenzied crowd.
