A second passenger has died as a result of a two vehicle crash in Letcher County on May 5.
Kentucky State Police say 90-year-old Kathleen Tackett of Belcher died on the night of May 9 at Pikeville Medical Center from injuries she had received in the collision at Payne Gap.
This wreck, including new developments with the additional fatality, will presented to the next possible Letcher County Grand Jury and remains under investigation by Detective Scott Caudill with KSP Post 13 in Hazard.
Franklin Travis Helbert, who was not injured, was originally charged with DUI (second offense), second degree manslaughter, two counts of first-degree assault, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Helbert was still being held in the Letcher County Jail this week.
