The inaugural Seeds and Stories event will be held in the Mullins Center at Hindman Settlement School in Hindman on Thursday, April 4.
Starting at 5 p.m., there will be a narrative stage to record stories about agriculture and seed saving. Those who have stories related to gardening, farming, or saving heirloom seeds are welcome to participate. Contact Hindman Settlement School at (606) 785-5475.
At 6 p.m., a farm-to-table meal will be served, including a cheeseboard, coffee sorghum roasted pork, Brussels sprouts and bacon in a chow chow vinaigrette, au gratin potatoes, maque choux, and maple pudding cake.
At 7 p.m., master storytellers and singers Sheila Kay Adams and Bobby Mc- Millon will perform. McMillon has received the North Carolina Folk Heritage Award and Adams has received the National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
