Selected for Rogers Explorers


Three Jenkins Middle High School eighth-grade students were accepted as Rogers Explorers for the summer class of 2020. They are Ryan Church, whose guardians are Scotty and Angela Church of Jenkins; Kaleigh Cook, daughter of Greg and Vanessa Collins of McRoberts and Stanley Cook of Whitesburg; and Arissa Mullins, son of Jonathan Mullins and Kayla Riley of Mayking.

The Rogers Explorers Program is a three-day, two-night program focused on cultivating skills in leadership, technology, math, science, and community service. The program is developed, coordinated, and supervised by The Center for Rural Development in partnership with the University of the Cumberlands, Lindsey Wilson College, Eastern Kentucky University, Morehead State University, Asbury University, the University of Pikeville, and Union College.
