John Ng’s Four Seasons Martial Arts meets at the Center on Tuesdays. They attended competition on May 5 in Louisville. They participated in 15 events and won 15 medals at the Derby State Championship Tournament. Congratulations to these great competitors!!! We are so proud of them! They represented the Ng Family System with honor and respect.

Our trial run happened impromptu at Friday Nite Pickin’ May 4. The pizza was awesome although we really weren’t really as prepared as we would have liked to be.

We had some trouble with the oven. We worked like beavers and baked up all the dough we had made but that being said, we have a bit more to do to make the oven efficient. We had heated it to 700-plus degrees and the heat had escaped. Oh well, we aren’t ones to back down, back out, or give up. We come from the “School of Hard Knocks” and we know anything worth having is worth working towards. As the old saying goes, “We ain’t white eyeing”. Lol

Black Sheep Bakery is now taking orders for loaf breads (white, 9 grain, and honey oat) and hot rolls. We will be baking on Mondays and orders can be picked up on Tuesday mornings at the Center by noon. If that time doesn’t work for you, we will arrange for you to pick up. We can receive orders through Sunday at 4 p.m. to allow us to get our bakers and ingredients lined up. Message us on Hemphill Community Center’s Facebook or call (606) 671-7023 or (606) 821-4201.
