AT FISHPOND — The Ermine Senior Citizens Center recently went to Fishpond Lake. The group played horseshoes and swung on the swings. Lizzie M. Wright says, “We were ‘just a swinging.'”

May 19, our senior citizens went to Buckhorn State Resort Park. Some of us made baskets, and Vina Lucas made a shuck doll and helped some of the ladies from the other centers make theirs. We played Bingo and had a wonderful lunch, and a good day was enjoyed by all.

May 22 we had a picnic at Fishpond Lake. Our site manager, Debbie Slone, had the shed decorated in red, white, and blue. It sure was pretty. You did a great job, Debbie.

Our own County Sheriff, Danny Webb, was there, as was Deputy Sheriff Eugene Slone, John Lucas, Magistrate Bob Lewis and John Adams, who is the husband of Ann Adams, one of our good cooks. We were glad you guys were there to be with us. We had about 35 or 40 to attend. We had items donated to us to give away.

Food World donated two hanging baskets, Golden Apple donated a hanging basket, Messenger Florist donated a beautiful wreath, Mavis Hair Design donated a haircut, and Subway donated two subs.

Thanks to you all, these were really appreciated.

Eugene Slone, Rhuford Hart, John Duty and Mark Napier all played horseshoes. John Duty said that he had to let the Deputy Sheriff win. They really enjoyed the games.

Some of us swung on the swings; we were ‘just a swinging.’

We all had a great time and are ready for the next party.

June 3 we are having our prom. Yes, we senior citizens are having a prom. It will be at Kingscreek and all seven of our centers will be there looking for a great time.

Put on your fancy clothes or overalls if you want to wear them, and come along for the fun. We’ll be there to join in.

God bless until next time.
