Senior citizens prom is just in a couple weeks. All seniors are encouraged to get their prom dresses and finery ready. Try and get a date, but if you don’t have a feller or gal come anyway. Fun times are ahead at the Hemphill Community Center.
Be sure and come out on Friday nights and support the different bands that play for your enjoyment.
The Coal Miners Festival at Kingdom Come was a huge success with good music and lots of dancing. Maxine, Gwen and Mary had so much fun they were exhausted but are dying to do it again. They sure kept the floor hot.
Maxine said she wished Rose Ballard had been with them. We know Rose would have kept up with them.
Coolie and Janice Baker had all their family together in Pigeon Forge this weekend. Even though it was cool they still got to do a lot. Kathy, Jimmy, Brian, Nikki, Brooke, Noah, Katina, Ashley, Bayley, Kiley, Addi and Alli were all there.
Greg, Sharon, Amanda and Rylee Holbrook were visiting with Clester and me and with his parents, Charlie and Wilma, for the weekend. Sharon cooked a big dinner for us on Saturday. Edsel, Carol and Kaylee Baker spent the afternoon with us. We enjoyed the derby.
Rylee hosted a tea party for Kaylee. Their table was so pretty. She had graham crackers and sliced cucumbers. Can’t beat that!
Congratulations to Raymond and Shanna Pettibone on the birth of their daughter, Kayleigh Alexis. She is so pretty. Her grandparents are Ron and Darlene Sexton Pettibone. Let the spoiling begin.
Prayers for Eugene Hall, Geneva Akeman, Danny Akeman and Clester Isaacs.
Clester and I were in Lexington this week for his doctor’s appointment. Sharon drove us from her home in Richmond. We met Amanda at Cheddars and had a good meal.
Amanda is doing her next seven weeks of training at a nursing home in Lexington. We got to see Greg, Rylee, Randy, Jennifer, Jared and Ethan before leaving for home.
Ethan had his awards program that day and he received an award for Proficiency in Math. We missed Jason, Tina, Kyle and Seth. Jason was at work, and Tina had the boys at archery practice.
We are so glad that Brenda Richardson had her heart surgery and is okay. Thank God! Got to stay in good health for Maci Ann.
Rick and Phyliss Yonts say the bear has been a recent visitor. Hope they keep it on their side of the hill.
Talked to Geneva Bates Walker this week. She said her dad, Greeley, sure would like to come down. Hope he gets able to travel. They live in Winchester, Ind.
I am looking for any information on the Thursa Kiser and Willie Grimes family. Did they have any children ?
