Hello everyone from all of us at the Ermine Center. We hope everyone is doing great.

We would like to say a big thank you to all the girls at the Blackey Center. We had a wonderful time at the Halloween party. We all dressed up, had some wonderful food and enjoyed dancing and talking with friends from other centers.

We also had our ‘Golden Arts’ at the Blackey Center. This is where our seniors bring their quilts, canning, artwork, poems, short stories, woodcrafts, and breadmaking to be judged.

If your item wins first place, then it goes to Hazard to be judged.

Our Golden Art winners from the Ermine Center are:

Coleene Hart, first place, Garden Trellis quilt, and it also won first place at the Hazard Golden Arts; first place in sweet pickle relish; first place in peach jam.

Brenda Susie Kincer won first place for her yarn crocheted afghan, and it also won first place at Hazard Golden Arts; first place in oil painting and first place in acrylic painting.

The Golden Art winners from the Ermine Senior Citizens Center were Coleene Hart’s Garden Trellis quilt, sweet pickle relish and peach jam; Brenda Susie Kincer’s yarn crocheted afghan, oil painting and acrylic painting; and Charles Morris’s unfinished birdhouse.

Charles Morris won first place with his unfinished birdhouse.

We sure appreciate everyone who entered something in the Golden Arts, and we hope to have a lot more next year.

We had a good shopping trip to Hazard this week. We had beautiful weather and found a lot of Christmas presents. We had dinner at the Ponderosa.

We also got to visit ECCO (Eolia Christian Community Outreach) Store across Pine Mountain. We got a lot of good buys. We always enjoy going over there to visit. Brenda Gross and the girls are so friendly to us. We even got some homemade whoopee pies and a Pepsi.

We stopped at the J.D. Maggard Store. It was our first time to ever visit. This store will be celebrating 100 years of being open. It has a lot of old things to look at. We bought our Mountain Eagles and some pickled bologna, and ice creams. We really enjoyed it. If you cross the mountain, stop in and visit with them.

Well, until next time, have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
