Hello everyone, from the Ermine Senior Citizens. We hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather and had a good Labor Day weekend.
Before we know it, the leaves will be turning the beautiful colors and the snow will be falling.
We had a wonderful picnic at Kingscreek Park. We took two busloads of seniors and had a total of 39. We also enjoyed listening to the Cowan Creek String Band with Autumn Dollarhide, Rebecca Standifer, Levi Caudill and Logan Dollarhide. They played beautifully, and the seniors really enjoyed it. Thank you all very much. And thanks to Bill Meade, the park was beautiful and ready for us.
We also want to thank Derek Barto at the Rec Center for being so nice to us. We have been going to the Rec Center once a month for exercise and bowling, and the seniors have really enjoyed this. They get so excited when it’s our time to go. They have a competition to see who will win.
We would also like to thank Stephanie Sturgill and the girls at the Hemphill- Colson Center for having us up during the Fourth of July for dinner and Bingo. It was a great dinner. Thanks.
We also want to thank Metry and Lorraine Kuracka for all the fruit and vegetables from their garden this year. We all really enjoyed them. Metry must really have a ‘green thumb.’
We went to Hazard on a shopping trip last week. We had dinner at Ponderosa Steakhouse. It was a fun day out with our friends.
If you are 60 or older, you’re always welcome to have dinner with us at 11 a.m. We also play Bingo on Tuesdays. We have quilting, Scrabble, Rook, and puzzles.
Our potluck is the fourth Thursday of each month. Bring a covered dish and come eat with us.
Until next time, be safe and hope to see you at the Ermine Senior Citizens Center.
