Oh! Happy day to all you senior citizens out there. I hope you’re all enjoying these frosty mornings.
I finally got my banana trees taken up and put under the basement. I have about 30 of them. Three had bananas on them this year.
We went to Hazard to the health fair, and had a great time. Last Thursday we went back to Hazard to the arts and craft show. We saw some beautiful quilts and other beautiful things made by senior citizens. We ate lunch at Ponderosa, and the food was great. Thirteen from our center went, plus our site manager, Debbie Slone. As we came back we stopped at Yoder’s and bought goodies. So we had a wonderful day.
Tuesday was our Bingo day, and Joe Walker of McRoberts was there, and he was ‘Bingo-ed.’ Also, Joe was back with us Friday again. We enjoy having you, Joe.
Don’t forget that Thursdays are our potluck and old-fashioned day, so Joe, bring your famous cornbread.
We may have a little surprise for you seniors, so come on and join us, and find out what’s going on. We are having an oldfashioned dinner of soup beans, kraut and wieners and everything that goes with a soup bean dinner.
Last week a woman from “Faith Moves Mountains,’ was at our center, and we had 12 to take a part in the program she talked to us about. I’m sure we will have a lot more to join when she comes back.
Say, you all can call Jim Craft ‘Red.’ Do you know what that stands for? Retired, Extremely Dangerous. Yep, that’s Jim Craft for sure.
Friday, Oct. 29, we will be going to the Kingscreek Center for a Halloween party. Okay, you Ermine Center senior citizens, dress up because you could win the prize for the best one dressed. I want to win that prize. I have my costume all ready to go.
We haven’t heard from Jack and Betty Newman yet, they’re probably having too great a time to send us a postcard. I should have gone with them. But if I went out west, I probably wouldn’t think to send a postcard either.
Don and Nancy Fultz have missed a few days from the center. I think Nancy has been sick again, or Don won’t come off of that mountain.
If you seniors don’t have a center to go to, you should come and be with us, and see what we are doing. If you quilt, the ladies would be glad for you to join them. And you guys can join those who come to our center. We have lots of men, so just stop by and see us. You’ll be glad you did.
So God bless until next time.
