Three ladies from L.K.L.P. came to the Ermine Center last week to talk about winterizing seniors’ homes, and helping with the heat bills. They were Tammy Whitaker, Bonnie Frazier and Felicia Hamilton.
Tammy gave us some good advice about what we need to do. Ladies, we really appreciated you all. Come back again.
Linda Jarrett has been on vacation. Maybe she’s home by now. I hope to find out where she vacationed when she returns to our center. We missed you, Linda.
Ermine seniors had their potluck dinner and picnic rolled into one at Fishpond Lake last Thursday. Fiftyfive attended.
Some played horseshoes, bean bag toss, and some of us just talked (me for one). We had all kinds of food from hamburgers, hot-dogs, potato salad, baked beans, and all kinds of cakes, desserts and junk food.
Rhuford and Coleen Hart did the grilling of the hamburgers and hot-dogs. All the food was great.
County Judge Jim Ward, Eddie Meade and Bob Lewis were there with us, and we were glad to have them.
Other county officials were invited, but didn’t make it. We gave away nine prizes. Pine Mountain Grill gave us a $30 gift certificate; Laura’s Lettering at Tunnel Hill in Whitesburg donated a UK Wildcat car tag; Dr. Chandrashekar donated tee-shirts and mugs; H. L. T. Cash Express donated a lot of different items; two $20 gift certificates were donated, and Long John Silver’s donated the plates and cups.
Thanks to all who donated to our center. We really appreciate you and you make our center a better one. Thanks again.
Danny Webb, we missed you and Eugene not being there. Maybe next time.
We have a good center, good fellowship and a Christian center. We have our preacher Rhuford Hart, who gives thanks each day for the food and prays for the sick, sinners and our soldiers.
If you want to know what we do, come and visit us. You’ll be glad you did.
God bless until next time.
