The Ermine Center was closed Monday, May 30, it being Memorial Day. All the centers were closed
Kathy Palumbo and Lizzie M. Wright went to the Veterans Memorial ceremony. It was really nice. A great crowd was there. The Letcher County Central High School band played the national anthem. The Glee Club sang ‘America’ and they were both wonderful.
S.T. Wright is back from Vermont where he went with his son Sam to see Sam’s son graduate.
Judy Vermillion has gone to Chicago to her granddaughter’s wedding, then she was going on to Peoria, Ill., with her son Carl. Hurry back, Judy, we miss you already.
Nancy Fultz hasn’t been to the center for about a week as she has been very sick. John Duty is still in Whitesburg Hospital very sick. Let’s remember them in our prayers.
Mike Majority from North Carolina has been home to visit with his mother, Patty Majority. Mike also went to the hospital to visit with John.
Friday, 20 from our center went to Johnson City, Tenn., shopping. We took two buses. We went to the shopping mall and shopped there for a while, then on to Golden Corral where we ate lunch, and it was really good. From there we went to Hammock’s store and shopped. It’s a huge, large store and very nice.
Some of the guys on the bus I didn’t ride with said they stopped at a large yard sale. But I didn’t believe them as they didn’t have anything they bought. We saw some beautiful country and places over there.
We have nothing planned so far for this week, but maybe in a week or two we will as we like to go, go, go. It’s not easy to keep our senior citizens down as we all love life and each other.
Helen Bentley is back with us, but we don’t know for how long as she said she’s on the road again. Way to go, Helen.
By for now. Everyone stay good and pretty. God bless until next time.
