Ermine senior citizens are enjoying this beautiful weather we’re having. Some are going to yard sales, shopping, cutting grass, and some of them doing nothing like me. Oh! I did wash the front of my house down and washed windows outside.
Kayla Bentley C.P.T.H. Patient Outreach coordinator of MCHC came and visited us. We enjoyed having you, Kayla, come again.
Friday we went to Boone Fork Center at Fleming- Neon, to a western hoedown. All the centers were there. We had 34 senior citizens from Ermine to go, and four of our workers.
We had a great time, but I think the ‘jail bird’ skit was really enjoyed by all the most. The singing was beautiful, and all the singers and the music was great. We have some great talent in Letcher County, and I think they should use it more often. I enjoyed Ed and Betty Bentley singing Johnny Cash and June Carter’s song.
We had a great dinner. It was just country food, soup beans (what we always called them), fried potatoes, kraut and wieners, onions, fried apple pies and drinks. The food was enjoyed by all.
I really want to thank all of the lovely ladies who told me they read my column each time and that they enjoy it.
Thanks again, ladies. If any of you seniors have any- thing you’d like for me to put in my column, just tell me and I’ll be more than happy to do that. Not like one old Scrooge said, that I’d better not put his name in it. But that’s OK, he’s my friend and he’s a pretty good guy. He brought me a gift, and I won’t tell what it was. But I ate it and enjoyed it with my supper. So I guess he’s a pretty good friend, anyway.
We are a great group of senior citizens and staying young.
Oh yes, I forgot that we had some great dancers too. Some up in their 80s, and some in their 70s.
So you see, we have fun. Come and join us.
Thanks, Boone Fork, for having us. We enjoyed it.
God bless until next time.
