A memorial service is being planned for 50-yearold Michael Dean Lowe, who was murdered in his home at the Mountain Breeeze Apartment complex in Burdine on October 4.
At Mountain Eagle presstime this week, no arrest had been made in connection with the case and authorities appeared to have few leads into the identity or the motive of the person or persons who stabbed Lowe to death.
Meanwhile, Lowe’s family members are calling for the public’s help in finding the killer or killers, and request that anyone with any informatin call Kentucky State Police at 606-435-6069.
“A lot of people say, yeah I know good people but this was literally a good person,” Lowe’s brother Floyd told WYMT-TV in Hazard this week.
“ The ‘who’ might not surprise me, but the ‘why’ probably would because of the person he is,” Floyd Lowe added. “It’s just hard to wrap your hands around.”
A son of the late Floyd Pete and Virginia Ruth Lowe, he was a brother of the late Donna Lowe, Carolyn Lowe, Diane Lowe and Lisa Lowe.
Surviving are a brother, Floyd Lowe of Isom; two sisters, Gladys Bryant of Jenkins and Margaret Lowe of Letcher; and a niece, Sierra Lowe.
Memorial services for Mr. Lowe will be held at a later date.
Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg has charge of arrangements.
