Former Burdine resident Norlene Lowe, 79, died July 28 at Hospice House in Sun City Center, Fla.
Ms. Lowe was the owner of several food establishments. She was known for her kindness and generosity and never turned anyone away that was hungry. She also provided free coffee to the police department.
She and Donald Webb moved to Florida 10 years ago to be near her family.
A daughter of the late Stella Crawford Tackett Dotson and Jerome Tackett, she was born in Pike County. She was the mother of the late Paul Keith Lowe, and a sister of the late Remus Tackett, Tooney Tackett and Emogene Stanley.
Surviving are Donald Webb; a daughter, Ginger Gibson; a brother, Edgel Tackett; two grandchildren, Misty Dawn Sampson Guillemette and Clinton Paul Gibson; and two greatgrandchildren, Nicholas Keith Sampson and Kameron Daniel Guillemette, all of Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 2, at Polly & Craft Funeral Home in Jenkins. Burial will follow at the Jenkins Payne Gap Cemetery.
