Services are held for Elvin Caudill



Funeral services for Elvin Caudill, 89, were held January 7 at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg.

He died January 4. Burial was in Randall Maggard Cemetery at Rockhouse.

A son of the late Charlie and Judy Ison Caudill and stepson of the late Mimey Caudill, he was the father of the late Joyce Ann Caudill Polly and fatherin law the late Phillip Edward Polly.

He was a brother of the late Orville and Arnold Caudill, a foster brother of the late B.F. Caudill and Burtis Caudill, and a brother-in-law of the late Bill, Herbert and Jim Maggard, and Ruth Rowling, Betty Caudill and Eula and Eva Maggard.

He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans Association, and a member of the Mount Olivet Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Viola June Maggard Caudill of Georgetown; a foster sister, Mattie Vern Eldridge and husband Matthew of Whitesburg; three brothersin law, Coy Fields of Letcher, Tandy Adams of Connersville, Ind., and Ernest Maggard of Springfield, Oh.; six sisters-in-law, Mary Rose Adams of Connersville, Ind., Iva Lou Franklin of Peebles, Oh., Nancy Collins and Peggy Maggard, both of Whitesburg, Phyllis Caudill of Roxana, and Irene Jent of Redfox; a granddaughter, Regina Ann Polly Rhoades and husband Stephen of Greenwood, Ind.; and two g reat- g randchildren, Victoria Joy Rhoades and Sterling Phillip B. Rhoades of Greenwood, Ind.
