Services are held for Geneva Tolaver




Geneva Owens Tolaver, 67, of Partridge, died December 16 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Partridge, she was a daughter of the late Riley E. and Samantha Raleigh Owens and the widow of Charles Tolaver. She was a sister of the late Sylvia Owens Works and Dana Owens Dixon.

Mrs. Tolaver attended Stuart Robinson School and Eastern Kentucky University. She worked at several occupations including factory work and as a substitute teacher, and was a member of Eolia Baptist Mission.

Survivors include a daughter, Victoria Johnson Hubbard and husband James, Mt. Carmel, Tenn.; a son, Sean Tolaver, Partridge; a brother, Keith Owens and wife Wilma, and a sister, Ernestine “Tiny” Owens Creech and husband Ronnie, all of Partridge; and grandchildren, James Jeremy Hubbard, Mt. Carmel, Tenn.; Tabitha LeAnne Hubbard, Chattanooga, Tenn.; Zachery Tolaver and Nicholas Tolaver, both of Bell County.

Funeral services were held December 19 at Eolia Baptist Mission. Burial was in the Maggard Cemetery at Partridge.
