Funeral services for Hick Baker, 70, were held March 10 in Pikeville. Burial was in the Sam Lucas Cemetery at Big Shelby.
A son of the late Samuel and Fannie Lucas Baker, he died March 7 at his home in Haymond. He was a brother of the late Herbert Baker and Minerva Halcomb, and a grandfather of the late Joseph Perry.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the Jenkins Area Jaycees and the Jenkins American Legion.
Surviving are three daughters, Lesa Perry, Wise, Va., and husband Roy, Jenkins, Angelia Holbrook and husband Garrard, Haymond, and Lesley King Stephens and husband James, Potter’s Fork; grandchildren, Tyler Holbrook, Katelyn Perry, Samantha Holbrook and Brooklyn King; two grandson-in-laws, Dustin Belcher and Josh Anderson; a great-grandson, Parker Wayne Anderson; three brothers, Hubert Baker and wife Illene, Johnson City, Tenn., Sammy Baker and wife Janet, Haymond, and Randall Baker and wife Donna Kaye, Pound, Va.; a sister, Christine Obsorne and husband Bernard, Pike County; and friends, Jeff Gibson and Steve Loflin.
