Services are held for Jimmy Enlow Sr.




Funeral services for Jimmy P. Enlow Sr., 70, of Harlan, were held November 8 at the Harlan Baptist Church. Burial was in Greenhills Memorial Garden in Middlesboro.

A son of the late Walter Vernon and Verna Lee Polly Enlow, he was born in Whitesburg. He died November 4 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Enlow was a 1955 graduate of Whitesburg High School and a 1959 graduate of Virginia Tech, where he played football. He worked for Electric Machine and Supply Co., then began teaching and coaching football for two years at Fleming-Neon High School and served as Boy Scout master.

In 1967, he and his wife moved to Harlan where he worked for Sigmon Coal Co. at Mary Helen. He also worked for Dixie Fuel Co. and Manalapan Mining Co. He was the former owner and operator of JAB Trucking Co. and retired in 2003.

Enlow was a member of the Harlan Baptist Church and served as a former deacon and Sunday School teacher.

Surviving are his wife, Billie Amburgey Enlow; three sons, Jimmy Paul Enlow Jr. and wife Teresa, Harlan; Alvin Enlow and wife Margaret, Versailles; and Blake Enlow and wife, Harlan; five grandchildren, Bradley Enlow, Deven Enlow, and Kaleb Enlow, all of Harlan, and Colin Enlow and Delaney Enlow, both of Versailles; three greatgrandchildren, Danny Blanton Enlow, Gavin Enlow, and Caleb Brock; and a sister, Walleen E. Morris and husband John, Lexington.
