Services are held for Joyce Niece

Funeral services for Joyce Faye ‘Dorothy’ Yeary Niece, 69, of Eolia, were held April 12 at the Franks Creek Church. Burial was in Niece Cemetery at Eolia.

She died April 9 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.

A daughter of the late Bill and Vanie Yeary, she was the widow of Edward ‘Bud’ Niece, and a grandmother of the late Caleb Niece.

Surviving are two daughters, Lesa Maggard of Eolia and Michelle Sexton of Cumberland; a son, Eddie Niece of Bradenburg; two sisters, Edith Short of Kingsport, Tenn., and Martha Ford of Church Hill, Tenn.; two brothers, John Yeary of Bristol, Tenn., and Harrell Yeary of Kingsport, Tenn.; and six grandchildren, Amber Sexton, Emily Sexton, Josh Maggard, Jacob Maggard, Brianna Niece, and Haley Nice.

Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg had charge of arrangements.
