Leon Wright, 80, of Beefhide, died March 16 at Pikeville Medical Center.
Born in Pike County to the late Andy and Eliza Hadden Wright, he was a brother of the late Vernal Wright, Walter Wright, Beulah Wright, and Lunnah Mae Mullins.
He was a grandfather of the late Karen Rose, Phyllis Ann Mullins and Brandy Mullins, and a great-grandfather of the late Taylor Mullins.
Wright was retired from General Motors and was a member of the United Autoworkers of America, and of the McRoberts Church of Christ. He was a U. S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Mullins; two sons, Jerry Lee Wright, Knoxville, Tenn., and Michael Ray Wright, Norwood, Oh.; three daughters, Debbie Rose and husband Delmar, and Sherry Mullins and husband Wendell, all of Jenkins, and Terri Johnson and husband Johnny, Williamsburg; two brothers, Dock Wright, Dorton, and D.V. Wright, Nauvoo, Ala.; four sisters, Virginia Mutters, Cincinnati, Oh., Nina Belcher, Louisville, Brenda Smallwood, Dorton, and Judy Lanser, Mt. Olive; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 19 in Virgie. Burial was in the Bill Mullins Cemetery at Jenkins.
