Funeral services for Norma Lou Fleming, 76, of Kona, were held March 1 at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial was in the Laurel Fork Cemetery at Payne Gap.
A daughter of the late Has and Cuba Slone Johnson, she died February 26 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Fleming was a member of the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Leonard Fleming; a son, Ross Fleming; a daughter, Detina Johnson and husband Tracy; three children she raised as her own, LeRoy Fleming, Paul Fleming and wife Nellie, and Carol Wainscott and husband Kenny; a brother, Daniel Boone Johnson and wife Trish; six sisters, Barbara “Hattie” West and husband Charles, Magnolia Mullins, Inez “Net” Potter, Rebecca Mullins and husband Dennis, Eva Potter and husband Jr., Lisa Tackett and Jr. Hall; two grandchildren, Cory Johnson and wife Allison, and Tanner Johnson and wife Leah; and her best friend, Barb Fleming.
Mrs. Fleming was preceded in death by LeRoy Fleming’s wife Iris Sue; a brother, Bobby Ray Johnson; a sister, Colene Johnson; and two brothers-in-law, Woodrow Mullins and Jacky Potter.
