Services are held for Sally Bentley





Funeral services for Sally Jane Collins Bentley, 66, of Jackhorn, were held March 24 at the Fleming-Neon Church of God. Burial was in the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking.

A daughter of the late William ‘Bill’ and Flora Laws Collins, she was a retired teacher with the Letcher County Board of Education, where she had worked for 28 years.

As a coach, she won three county championships in basketball, and three championships in volleyball. She was the sister of the late Larry Collins and Billie Faye Grigsby.

Survivors include her husband, Denzil Bentley; a son, Denzil “Porky” Bentley Jr. of Jackhorn; two daughters, Billie Deanna “Bill-Bill” Bentley of Jackhorn and Tonya Land Kincaid of Blackey; two brothers, Hiram Collins of Neon, and Ted Collins of Cromona; two sisters, Ida Balthis of Cromona and Sue Holbrook of Perryville; five grandsons, Austin Bentley, Justin Bentley, Lance Bentley, Jacob Kincaid and Casey Kincaid; and a granddaughter, Hayley Kincaid.
