Virda Cook, 85, of Isom, died March 31 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
A daughter of the late Townsel and Ollie Stidham Breeding, she was the widow of the late Andrew Jackson Adams and after his death married the late Paul Cook. She was the mother of the late Stephen Daniel Adams and a grandmother of the late Stevie Lee Adams.
She was a member of the Calvary Temple Church of God.
Surviving are six sons, Roger Adams, Whitesburg; Doug Adams, Morristown, Tenn.; Jerry Adams, Mike Adams, and Paul Mark Cook, all of Van, and Colin Cook, Isom; five daughters, Jackie Rutherford, Jefferson City, Tenn.; Wanda June Collins and Linda Kaye Collins, both of Isom; Brenda Fields, Pikeville; and Phyllis Sturgill, Vine Grove; two brothers, Vance Breeding, Isom, and Verlon Breeding, Jeremiah; two sisters, Wanda Potter, Virgie, and Blanche Caudill, Jeremiah; 25 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 2 at Calvary Temple Church. Burial was in the Colson Cemetery.
Letcher Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
