Wilma Jean Croucher Cornett, 84, died November 24, at the UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.
Born in Blackey, she was a daughter of the late General and Thelma Whitaker, and the widow of James ‘Clell’ Cornett.
She was a resident of The Lafayette in Lexington for the last five years, and was a sister of the late Carroll Croucher and Corise Croucher Collins.
She was retired from teaching at Stuart Robinson School and the Jeff erson County School System, and was a graduate of Stuart Robinson School and Berea College.
Surviving are a sister, Joyce Croucher Bishoff and husband Bill, Lebanon, Oh., and two brothers, General Croucher Jr. and wife Beverly, Beavercreek, Oh., and Samuel Croucher and wife Mary Lou, Lexington.
Funeral services were held November 26 at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial was in Cornett Family Cemetery at Blackey.
