Funeral services for Ollie Edward Harris, 86, of Jenkins, will be held at 7:30 p.m., March 4, in Jenkins. Burial will be at 10 a.m., March 5, at Green Acres Cemetery.
The son of the late Ollie Edward and Grace Vanover Harris, he died March 1 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was married to the late Wanda Blake Harris, and later married Martha Ann Hawkins Harris, who survives him.
Harris was a mining engineer and was retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He was a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, and was a member of the Jenkins First Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons, Bobby Harris and wife JoAnn, Atlanta, Ga., Durward ‘D.A.’ Anthony Harris and wife Kelly, Vienna, Va., Charlie Harris and wife Debbie, Port Richey, Fla., and James Anthony Hawkins, Ashcamp; a daughter, Isannah Hawkins Lee, Lexington; grandchildren, Deanna, Robert, Rebecca, Kaitlin, Whitney, Jacob, Chasity, Matthew, Brooke, Isannah, and James; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eva Jean Bailey, Melbourne Beach, Fla.
