Services are set for Ray Brown

Funeral services for Ray Brown, 90, will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Jeremiah Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Caudill Cemetery at Redstar.

A son of the late Jim and Sally Brown, he had nine brothers and sisters, all of whom preceded him in death.

He died April 5 at his home.

Brown was a contractor and builder, and enjoyed listening to bluegrass music.

Surviving are his wife, Madge Pratt Brown; three sons, Phillip Brown and wife Carol of Blackey, Stanley Brown and wife Danielle of Richmond, and Fred Brown of Winchester; two daughters, Donna Rae Tackett and husband Julian of Lexington and Marquetta Ison and husband Tim of Hazard; and six grandchildren, Timmy Rae Ison, Jeremy Ison, Tyler Brown, Whitley Brown, Austin Brown and Jackson Brown.

Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg had charge of arrangements.
