Services are set for Tom Hayes



Archie Thomas ‘Tom’ Hayes, 83, of Jenkins, died July 3 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

A son of the late Steve W. Hayes and Nora Boggs, he was a retired coal miner from Beth-Elkhorn Coal Co., and a member of the United Mine Workers of America, and the People’s Fundamental Baptist Church in Dunham.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Air Force.

Surviving are his wife, Eldra Dean Hayes; two sons, Jerry Hayes and wife Vickie, and Danny Hayes and wife Angie; a daughter, Teresa Reynolds and husband Dale; a brother, Hoyt Hayes; seven grandchildren, Joshua Hayes, Derek Hayes, Kevan Hayes, Kara Crawford, Justin Crawford, Craig Hayes and Shawn Hayes; and a great-grandchild, Alyssa Stanley.

Funeral services for Mr. Hayes will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the People’s Fundamental Baptist Church in Dunham. Burial will follow in the Payne Gap Cemetery at Jenkins.
