Services held for Betty Horn

Funeral services for Betty Lou Cureton Horn, 79, were held May 11 at Letcher Funeral Home. Burial was in Thornton Cemetery.

Born at Seco, she was a daughter of the late Chester Lee and Callie Adams Cureton, the mother of the late James Gregory Hunt, and sister-in-law of the late Don Franklin Wright.

She died May 7 at her home at Dry Fork.

Mrs. Horn was a graduate of Fleming- Neon High School and Eastern Kentucky University. She was an instructor at EKU, taught at Inez High School, and was a guidance counselor at Whitesburg High School.

Surviving are her husband, U.G. “Gene” Horn; a son, Chester David Horn and wife Jody Wallace Horn of Winchester; a daughterin law, Valerie Ison Horn of Dry Fork; grandchildren, Amy Evelyn Barker Horn, Kaitlyn Desiree Barker Horn, Callie Jane Horn Blair and husband Josh, and James Grant Lee Horn; a great- granddaughter, Eliza Jane Blair; a sister, Ida Lee Cureton Wright of Seymour, Ind.; two nephews, Lance Wright and Anthony Wright; a niece, LaDonna Wright Snyder; two grandnephews, Edward Snyder and Don Alan Wright; and three grandnieces, Elizabeth Snyder, Amanda Snyder and Abigail Wright.
