Services held for Billy Noble


Funeral services for Billy Con Noble, 71, of Deane, were held June 2 at Carty Funeral Home in Neon. Burial was in the Wright Cemetery at Whitaker.

Mr. Noble, who died May 30, was a member of the original 30 of the first class of Job Corps, where he learned to operate heavy equipment. He later worked 40 years in trucking and coal mining, and was a member of the Haymond Independent Holiness Church. He enjoyed playing music, woodworking, and making signs for family and friends.

Mr. Noble was born in Kona to the late Cullen and Lula Newsome Noble. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Norma Tackett Noble; four sons, Billy Noble and wife Shelia of Salt Lick, Duane Noble of Morehead, Jerry Noble and wife Ashley of Deane, and Shawn Tackett and wife Amanda of Roxana; four sisters, Donna Noble of Payne Gap, Eileen Holbrook, Cindy Vance and husband Billy, all of Neon, and Wanda Sproles of Dalton, Georgia.

Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, R’dell Short, Tyler Noble, Trevor Noble, Shae Sparks, Elijah Noble, Alexia Noble, Aiydun Shelby, Axdun Noble, Rachel Tackett, Aaron Tackett, Allen Jent, Brittany Tackett and Brook Tackett; and nine great-grandchildren.
