Birdie Stanley, 86, of McPeeks Branch, Jenkins, died October 15.
Born in Clinchco, Va., to the late Emory and Palmira Mullins Fleming, she lived most of her life in McPeeks Branch.
She was the widow of Harold Stanley, the mother of the late Doug Hawkins, and a sister of the late Beatrice Williams, Homer Fleming, Pearlie Fleming, Fitchue Fleming and Hansford Lee Fleming.
Surviving are a daughter, Anita Mullins, Shelby Gap; eight sons, Ray Hawkins, North Ridgeville, Oh., Clyde Stanley, Charles Stanley, Billy Stanley and Johnny Stanley, all of Burdine, Tommy Stanley, Paris, Tenn., and Lester Stanley and Kenneth Stanley, both of Pound, Va.; 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two greatgreat grandchildren; two sisters, Lottie Fay Strouth, Clintwood, Va., and Ida Lou Little, Paris, Tenn.; and a brother, A.C. Fleming, Erie, Penn.
Funeral services were held October 18 at Carty Funeral Home in Jenkins. Burial was in the Stanley family cemetery.
