Bluford Elswick, 84, of Colson died April 23 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
A son of the late James “Jim” Elswick and Daisy Bentley, he was a member of the Calvary Temple Church and a board member for 44 years.
He was a retired coal miner who enjoyed fishing, playing checkers, attending car shows, and family cookouts.
Surviving are his wife, Pricey Faye Sizemore Elswick; two sons, James “Bud” Elswick and wife Diane, and Randy Elswick and wife Darlene, all of Campbranch; five daughters, Betty Taylor and husband Harry of Campbranch, Barbara Adams of Bean Station, Tenn., Jeanette Sexton and husband Boliver of Little Colley, Rebecca Labreche and husband Peter of Colson, and Cecelia Breeding and husband Chris, of Mayking; three brothers, Ellize Elswick and wife Lenna, and Andrew Elswick, all of Burlington, and Stewart Elswick of Madison, Ind.; a sister, Mary Tackett and husband Lavern of Pikeville; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren
Funeral services for Mr. Elswick were held April 25 at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial was in the Addington Cemetery at Craft’s Colly.
