Carless Eldridge, 85, of Fairborn, Ohio, died July 3.
Born in Banks to the late Boyd and Polly Caudill Eldridge, he was the widower of Dorothy E. Eldridge. He is survived by Dorothy G. Eldridge, to whom he was married for 13 years.
Six sisters and two grandchildren also preceded him in death.
Mr. Eldridge served in the U.S. Army and retired from civil service at Wright- Patterson Air Force Base where he was employed in heating and maintenance. He was a 50-year member of Michael L. Finnell Lodge #711 F&AM.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Gloria Mellon and Patricia Pike and husband Roger Sr., all of Fairborn, Ohio; three grandsons, Bryan Mellon, Roger Pike Jr., and Lucas Pike; two granddaughters, Jennifer Oliver and Carri Davis; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, OmaJo Branson and Ersley Eldridge; and four stepchildren, Stephen Jackson, Joseph Dolwick, Eugene Dolwick Jr. and Nina Ipock, as well as numerous other extended family members and friends.
A Masonic service was held on Monday, July 9, followed by a funeral service at Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. Burial with military honors followed at Byron Cemetery. Condolences may be made to the family at www.Belton-Stroup.com
