Services held for Charles Mullins


Funeral services for Charles Vester Mullins, 78, were held January 24 in Pound, Va. Graveside services were held January 25 in the Dingus-Morgan Cemetery in Pound, Va.

A son of the late Smith and Nora June Mullins, he died January 22 at his home.

He was the widower of Helen McFadden Mullins, a grandfather of the late Preston Dingus and Austin Mullins, and a brother of the late Loretta Tackett.

Mr. Mullins was a retired coal miner, and enjoyed playing putt-putt golf and Rook.

Surviving are four daughters, Sherry Morgan and husband Ben of Pound, Va., Debbie Slone and husband Mike of Kingsport, Tenn., Cynthia Casebolt of Pikeville, and Lisa Catlett of Lynchburg, Va.; a son, Conley Mullins and wife Tammy of Beefhide; 12 grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Nettie Mullins of Robinson Creek; a brother, Dempsey Mullins of Hopkinsville; and grandson Brandon Dingus and wife Natasha, who helped care for him.
