Services held for David Sexton




David McKinley Sexton, 78, died July 11 at his home on Sandlick.

A son of the late Arlie and Esma Adams Sexton, he was the widower of Wanda Marshall Sexton. He was the father-in-law of the late Monroe Jamison.

Mr. Sexton had worked as a coalminer, a mine foreman and electrician and security guard for several area mines.

He was a former Mason, and was a member of the Sandlick Volunteer Fire Department.

Sur viving are two daughters, Daveena Sexton of Abingdon, Va., and Stephanie Williams and husband Michael of Sharps Chapel, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Hannah Jamison and Russell Waddell of Lexington; two sisters, Shirley Sizemore of Whitesburg and Hilda Adams of Shepherdsville; and four sisters-in-law, Deborah Marshall of Greenville, S.C., Joyce Rich of Knoxville, Tenn., and Sue Sexton and Glenna Sexton, both of Whitesburg.

Funeral services were held July 15 in Whitesburg. Burial was in the Sexton Cemetery at Sandlick.
