Dorothy “Dot” Fields Knight, 87, of Windsor Gardens Assisted Living in Georgetown, died February 25 at University of Kentucky HealthCare in Lexington.
Born in Whitesburg to the late Corbin and Dolly Day Fields, she was the widow of Johnny Knight.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Carl, Johnny, James Harry, and Glen Fields; and infants Vern Cecil and Elmer Fields; and two sisters, Loraine Rose and Katy Kahn.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John Russell “Rusty” and Leona Knight of Georgetown; two grandsons, Wesley Knight and wife Stacy, and Nicholas Knight and wife Lisa; six great-grandchildren, Olivia, Miles and Jaiden Knight and Robert, Nora and Charlotte Wilke; three brothers, Joseph Fields and wife Akiko of Norfolk, Va., Ray Fields of London, and Edward Fields and wife Carolyn of Homestead, Fla.; three sisters, Imogene Morgan of Buford, Ga., Sue Campbell of Liberty, and Fay Wood and husband Martin of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Ethel Joyce Pond of Knoxville, Tenn.
She was an avid reader, and she and her husband enjoyed fishing, antiquing, and traveling.
Funeral services were held March 2, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Johns officiating. Burial was in the King family cemetery.
