Earnest Anderson, 87, died February 13 at his home at Craft’s Colly.
Born in Beefhide to the late William and Rebecca Jane Wright Anderson, he was the father of the late Roger Ray Anderson.
He was a retired coal miner and had worked at Beth-Elkhorn Coal Company.
Mr. Anderson was baptized on July 24 and enjoyed gospel music and having his family home for Sunday dinners and holidays. He also enjoyed babysitting with his great-granddaughter, Ella.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Sue Anderson; three daughters, Ernestine Flint and husband Chester of Jenkins, Rebecca Elswick and husband Tommy of Craft Branch, and Lisa Sexton and husband Bobby of Litt Carr; two sons, Donald Anderson and wife Debbie of Bottom Fork, and David Anderson and wife Sheila of Jenkins; 11 grandchildren, Kim, Melissa McCall, Thomas, Kenny, Melissa, Roger, Kevin, Ernie, Jennifer, Jason, and Josh; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Alonzo and Mary Day.
Funeral services for Mr. Anderson were held February 16 at Carty Funeral Home in Jenkins. Burial was in the Wright Cemetery in East Jenkins.
