Ed Bentley, 81, died February 4 at his home at Jackhorn.
Born in Pike County, he was a son of the late William Payne and Nancy Ann Stewart Bentley. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary, Marie and Helen, and eight brothers, Bill, Wilburn, Robert, Walter, Elish, Jesse, Payne Jr. and Ballard.
He was a retired coal miner and a miner of the United Mine Workers of America and Hemphill Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jo Potter Bentley; two daughters, Debbie Narramore and husband Durward, and Roseann Laverne Bentley, all of Jenkins; a son, Chuckie Kyle Bentley and wife Theresa, Jackhorn; seven grandchildren, Trey Narramore, Barbi Mercer, Brandon Kyle Bentley, Phillip Bentley, Stacey Hall, Jessica Nicole Holbrook and Ryan Bentley; 10 greatgrandchildren, Sophia, Breyden, Bristol, Alexis, Addison, Ashton, Kylie, Kendall, Layla and Madalyn; and two sisters, Bonnie Hall and Millie Bentley, both of McRoberts.
Funeral services were held February 7 at Carty Funeral Home. Burial was in the Ed Bentley Cemetery at Jackhorn.
