Services held for Everett Sexton

Funeral services for Everett Kenneth Sexton Jr., 65, were held July 4 in Whitesburg. Burial was in the Sexton Cemetery in Neon.

Born in Letcher County, he was a son of the late Everett Kenneth Sexton and Ella Isaac Meade, and a brother of the late Marie Hiatt, Joann Spicer, Esther Hensley and Henry Bates. He died July 1 at Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of the American Legion at Neon.

Surviving are a son, Everett K. Sexton III of Neon; a daughter, Toni Bentley of Neon; two brothers, Troy Sexton and Tony Sexton, both of Jackhorn; three sisters, Louvonne Spangler of Neon, Garnet Sexton of Hazard, and Jean Andrews of Laurel; and three grandchildren, Shane Bentley, Logan Sexton and Veronica Sexton.
