Funeral services for Glenda Brooks Sexton, 83, were held June 16 at First Baptist Church in Whitesburg. Burial was in Green Acres Memorial Park in Ermine.
A daughter of the late Hubert H. and Roberta Marie Rogers Brooks, she died June 12 at her home in Thornton. She was preceded in death by a daughter-inlaw, Sharon Elaine Sexton, and two brothers, Jack E. Brooks and Ronald L. Brooks.
Mrs. Sexton was a member of First Baptist Church since 1964 and taught the children’s Sunday School for 20 years. She was also a member of the Pine Mountain Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving are her husband, Steven Carroll Sexton; a son, Steven Mark Sexton of Spartanburg, S.C.; a daughter, Stephanie Marie Bentley and husband Terry of Nicholasville; and a brother, Paul Dean Brooks of Sandlick.
Everidge Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
