Services held for Imogene Sexton

Imogene Sexton, 89, died January 1 at her home at Colson.

Born at Colson to the late Grant and Hettie Banks Sturgill, she was the widow of Lovell Sexton.

Mrs. Sexton was a member of Millstone Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and enjoyed traveling.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Wilson and husband Terry of Colson, and Tricia Lewis and husband Robert of Cowan; five sons, Robert Sexton of Bean Station, Tenn., Charles Ralph Sexton and wife Belinda of Whitesburg, Stanley Sexton of Colson, Roger Sexton and wife Sharon of Rutledge, Tenn., and Lovell Sexton Jr. and wife Robyn of Sandlick; 16 grandchildren, Michelle, Mike, Melanie, Shelley, Paula, Bridgett, Tracy, Dewayne, Brian, Rodney, Melissa, Candice, Hannah, Logan, Brett and Paige; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Gilbert; four brothers, Woodrow Sexton, Leroy Sexton, Clinton Sexton, and James Sturgill; and a daughter-in-law, Betty Sexton.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sexton were held January 4 at Millstone Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

Everidge Funeral Home of Whitesburg had charge of the arrangements.
