James Dwayne Gibson, 64, of Cowan, died October 5 at Baptist Health Center in Lexington.
A son of the late Alonzo and Lona Amburgey Gibson, he was the widower of Juliette Standifer Gibson and was later married to Kenetta Gibson, who survives him.
Mr. Gibson was a member of the Sandlick Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 20 years, are a daughter, Sabriena Hackworth and husband Jack of Millersburg; a son, Jimmy Gibson of Whitesburg; five sisters, Betty Taylor and husband Burl of Nicholasville, Janice Sargent and husband Elmer of Beattyville, Lois Ann Dixon and husband Vernon of Whitesburg, and Jennie Jolly and husband Roger, and Mary Jean Gibson, all of Cynthiana; two grandchildren, Jordan Howard and Nickolas Howard; and friend, Mary Jolly.
Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by three siblings, Luther Gibson, Ricky Gibson, and Ruby Kirkpatrick, and special mother-in-law, Bobbie Fields.
Funeral services for Mr. Gibson were held October 9 at Whitesburg Holiness Church. Burial was in the Miles Cemetery at Cowan.
Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg had charge of arrangements.
