Funeral services for former McRoberts resident James Kiser, 88, were held August 6 at Hemphill Freewill Baptist Church. Burial was in the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking.
A son of the late Fred and Lucinda Collins Kiser, he was born at Democrat. He died August 2 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio. He was married to the late Irene Cloud Kiser.
He was a continuous miner and loading machine operator for Bethlehem Steel Corporation, and retired in 1982. He was a World War II Coast Guard veteran, serving aboard the USS Hutchinson PF 45 as a first class seaman, and received three medals. He was a member and deacon of Hemphill Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Wright and Dwana Isaac of Bellevue, Ohio; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great- greatgrandchildren.
Carty Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
