Funeral services for Jenetta Mae Cook, 85, were held December 28 in Whitesburg. Burial was in the Riley Bentley Cemetery at Deane.
Born at Millstone to the late James Woodie and Ethel Verdie Mullins McElroy, she died December 24 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Cook was the widow of James Marvin Cook. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Barbara Ann McElroy, Dorothy Jean Johnson, Lillie Opal Mason, Virginia Pauline Mason and Mary Evelyn Bentley, and five brothers, Woodie Edward McElroy, Ralph Edward McElroy, James Goman McElroy, Robert Howard McElroy and Emitt Wood McElroy.
She was a member of Millstone Missionary Baptist Church, and enjoyed sewing and feeding her hummingbirds.
Surviving are a daughter, Gloria Ann Phipps of Millstone; two brothers, Donald Ray McElroy of Whitesburg and William Larry McElroy of Greenville, Tenn.; a sister, Brenda Hazel Fields of Dayton, Oh.; three grandchildren, Angela Michelle Phipps, Ronnie Gale Phipps Jr., and Randy Lee Phipps; and four great-grandchildren, Austin Phipps, Justin Phipps, Matthew Phipps, and Kristen Phipps.
