Services held for L.C. ‘Artie’ Branham

Funeral services for L.C. “Artie” Branham, 91, of McRoberts, were held January 19 at Polly & Craft Funeral Home in Jenkins. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

A son of the late Wesley and Daisy Bell Burke Branham, he was born in Etty. He died January 16 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Burke Branham; a sister, Verna Branham; and seven brothers, Hatler Branham, Oxur Branham, Conley Branham, Pleas Branham, Joe Branham, William Branham and George Branham.

Mr. Branham was a member of the McRoberts Old Regular Baptist Church for more than 50 years. He worked for Beth Elkhorn Coal Corporation, Consol Coal Company and the Department of Highways, and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.

He enjoyed looking for mushrooms and ginseng, gardening and hunting.

Surviving are nieces and nephews, Shelia Branham Tackett, Randall Branham, Raymond Branham, Rhonda Tolliver Branham Mullins, Donna Branham Morgan, Becky Branham McFall, Alvin Branham, Doug Burke, Logan Burke and Teddy Stewart, and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
