Funeral services for Landon ‘Papaw’ Sexton, 80, were held December 3 at the Colson Pentecostal Church. Burial was in the Bill Adams Cemetery at Colson.
A son of the late Ochra and Della Mae Amburgey Sexton, he was born in Letcher County. He died November 30 at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was the father of the late Glenda Jones and a brother of the late Lenville Sexton, Leander Sexton, Bradley Sexton, Cecil Sexton and Marie Adams.
He was a U. S. Army veteran and a member of the Colson Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are two sons, Darrell Sexton and wife Kathy of Mallie, and Dean Sexton of Colson; a daughter, Diane Wright and husband Tim of Cowan; five sisters, Arlene McCullough, Cråawfordville, Fla., and Yvonne Tackett, Beatrice Banks, Anna Lee Thomas and Alice Mason, all of Colson; two brothers, John Sexton of Isom and Charles W. Sexton, Colson; four grandchildren, Todd, Bobby, Josh and Beth; and three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Cameron and Austin.
Everidge Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
