Larry Oliver ‘Chuck’ Reed, 56, of Payne Gap, died March 13 at Johnson City Medical Center in Tennessee.
Born in Jenkins to the late James D. and Opal Johnson Reed, he was a brother of the late Nancy Potter, Nellie Baker, Pina Bentley, James Reed, Dewey Reed and Columbus Reed.
He worked for C&D Battery and Shaw Carpet, and enjoyed University of Kentucky sports.
He was a member of the Burdine Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving are two daughters, Erica Peacock and husband Gary, Stephens City, Va., and Kimberley Clegg and husband David, Front Royal, Va.; three sisters, Carlene Tackett, McRoberts, Reba Hall and husband Danny, Jenkins, and Mary Ruth Wright and husband Don, Craft Branch; a brother, Tony Reed and wife Mildred, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Audrey Dingus, Logan Dingus and Haley Clegg; three nieces, Cathy, Georgia and Crystal; seven nephews, Tony, Danny Ray, Jamie, Jason, Matt, Josh and Keaston; 15 great-nieces and eight great-nephews, and friend Rodney Williams.
Funeral services were held March 17 at the Burdine Church of God of Prophecy. Burial was in Laurel Fork Cemetery.
