Services held for Linda Sexton


Linda Gayethale Sexton, 77, died October 31 at her home in Jenkins.

Born in Jenkins to the late Frank and Grethel Spence Dingus, she was the widow of Harold Dean Sexton.

She was a grandmother of the late Christopher Sexton, and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Sherry Dingus, Pat Butrum and Faye Pingle.

A member of the Eastern Star in Neon, she had worked for years for the Red Cross and enjoyed reading and growing flowers.

Surviving are three sons, Harold Sexton Jr. of Neon, Kelly Sexton of Travelers Rest, S.C., and Michael Sexton and wife Latisha of Hopkinsville; two daughters, Carolyn Harrison and husband Lee of Ridge Spring, S.C., and Kathy Cretnich and husband Robert of Haymond; two brothers, Frank B. Dingus Jr., of Independence, and Mike Dingus of Neon; four sisters, Evelyn Dingus of Louisville, Betty Anderson of Goose Creek, S.C., Virginia Brandenburg of Middletown, Oh, and Shelia Kline of Covington; 15 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mrs. Sexton were held November 3 at Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
